Jewelry Organization

For the last five years or so I have had a hard time trying to figure out the best way to organize my jewelry. I have done a ton of different things to display it all but never fell in love with it and it wasn’t very practical either. Things would get tangled, lost and ruined. As my jewelry collection grew, my organization got worse.

It was time for me to get serious about making things look nice after my room got a makeover. Everything got painted, new carpet got put in and I just wanted everything to look good.

While I was in Home Depot looking for bathroom furnishings I came across some Floating shelves.  I have always loved the look of floating shelves and knew I could use them in some way. As I stood there I realized that I could just make my own necklace organizer. It would be cute and functional!

I ended up buying a set of shelves and a pack of 100 white hooks.

The task I was about to take on needed some help of a handy man. Who else better than my dad? I took a measuring tape and marked out every half inch with a dot on the shelf. This would be my marking spot of where to drill a hole. After marking both shelves I drilled in each hole. Once that was done I took each hook and screwed them in! This project maybe took and hour and a half. It was really easy and probably one of the best ideas I have had.

I plan on decorating the shelves in another way but just needed some props for photo purposes!

Earrings: Jo-Ann Fabric and Craft Store had the perfect rose gold rotating display for my earrings. I now don’t have to dig for all my earrings and things don’t seem to get lost anymore!

Rings: One day while roaming through the kitchen section in Target I found a cute little bowl. I thought it would be a good way to store my rings!
